Nurse In-charge

 

The In-Charge Nurse is responsible for the smooth and efficient patient flow within the hospital. Delegates assignments and provides supervision for the support staff in accordance with their level of training and the patient's requirements. Works, in cooperation with other medical staff to insure the quality of patient care.

Key Job Responsibilities:

1. Develops and posts work schedule for nursing staff

2. Provides direct patient care as per hospital's policies

3. Ensures standards of patient care through Quality monitors

4. Coordination with Senior doctors and Resident Medical Officers

5. Communicates problems involving personnel, medical staff, patients, families and the general public to the management personnel

6. Implements the Plan of Care

7. Evaluates nursing interventions on medical records

8. Implements emergency procedures as indicated

9. Complies with hospital policy for receiving doctor's orders, including verbal and phone

10. Provides patient/family education

11. Explains discharge instructions as directed

12. Hands out appropriate feedback forms

13. Incorporates infection control principal in practice

14. Complies with policy for Handling Medical Emergencies

15. Demonstrates appropriate use of incident reports

16. Assists with QA studies: Collects data & Responds to corrective plans

Qualification and Experience:

GNM Nursing with 5-years of PQE
